Racially Offensive Conduct and Antisocial and Aggressive Attitudes Predict Excessive Use of Force in Police Officers

Previous researchers have investigated police officers’ characteristics and the use of excessive force in citizen encounters. Our research extended these studies by demonstrating that police officers’ racially offensive behaviors and antisocial and aggressive attitudes significantly predict citizen complaints of excessive force.
