Women of Color Holding a Fixed Mindset Demonstrate Lower Levels of Resilience and More Negative Attitudes Towards STEM

Abstract

Students holding a fixed mindset demonstrated significantly greater negative attitudes towards STEM and significantly lower levels of resilience compared to students holding a growth mindset. In the wake of biased encounters, students’ resilience and STEM attitudes were not significantly different from baseline responses suggesting stability over time and across experiences.
