Active Vs. Inactive Words Are Primed By Exercising Bodies: The Role of Body Mass Index

Associative priming was used to determine whether the identification of activity-related words was influenced by heavy and thin body primes that were either eating or exercising. Results suggest that exercising bodies prime activity-related words overall, but this may be mitigated by the body mass index of the observer.
