Abstract

Characteristics beyond emotion, like race, are often overlooked in studies of threat perception using dot-probe tasks. We found that participant race moderated the association between intergroup anxiety and attention bias toward Black, but not White, threatening faces, such that White participants with higher anxiety were more vigilant for outgroup threat.
