Evaluating the Effectiveness of Eight Methods for Recruiting Fathers to Participate in Parenting Research

Fathers offer crucial perspectives in parenting research but are difficult to recruit. We evaluated eight recruitment methods. Newspaper and Facebook ads were most effective, accruing 27% and 31% of the sample. Craigslist and Facebook yielded the most diverse fathers. Popular motivations for participation were scientific contribution and representation in research.
