Abstract

Millions of people are exposed to severe weather events each year and many eventually develop weather-related phobia or PTSD. Our study examined whether intrusive thoughts and ruminations predict significant anxiety about severe weather. We found that intrusive thoughts, ruminations, and weather trauma predict weather-related phobia and PTSD symptoms.
