The Adverse Effect of Stereotype Threat on the Speech Performance of Latinx Students

Abstract
Latinx students randomly assigned to read out loud a standardized reading comprehension passage described as diagnostic of linguistic ability generated a higher frequency of speech errors than Latinx students randomly assigned to read the same passage described as nondiagnostic of linguistic ability and White students randomly assigned to either condition.
