The Increasing Importance of Cultural Awareness Among Student Physicians

As physicians treat more diverse patients, greater cultural sensitivity is required. Student physician ratings of the importance of developing awareness and skills in working with patients from different cultures was assessed. Compared with student physician ratings from nearly a decade earlier, students valued cross cultural communication skills more highly.
