Theory-Based Reasoning Differentiates Entity Vs. Incremental Beliefs about Athletic Ability

Two hundred US adults completed the Conceptions of the Nature of Athletic Ability Questionnaire (Biddle, et al., 2003) and a survey measuring their beliefs about the relationships among features of athleticism. The results indicate differences in the nature of participants’ conception of athleticism depending level of entity beliefs.
