Abstract

The marble-hand illusion (feeling hand hardness and heaviness) results from hearing a hammer hitting marble in synchrony with light taps on a hand out of view. We report a novel extension of this audio-cutaneous illusion in which sounds of water and light hand pressure influence perceived skin temperature and moisture.
