False Beliefs on Symptoms, Cause, and Treatment of Depression

Amount of knowledge on mental disorders impacts people’s attitudes toward them. This study explored false beliefs toward Major Depressive Disorder among naive participants. Participants identified symptoms, causes, and treatments of depression through an online questionnaire. Results demonstrated both well-educated and misconceptions in response.
