Abstract

Prior exposure to non-sense words and seen abstract shapes (audio-visual:AV) enhances associations between the same non-sense words and felt shapes (audio-tactile:AT) early in development (6-8 year-olds). To further examine how visual input influences tactile associations, we considered prior exposure to seen and felt shapes (visual-tactile:VT), which also enhanced AT associations.
