Abstract

The psychopathic personality dimension that underlies its self-defeating nature (boredom, goal persistence, aggression, impulse/anger control) was found to correlate positively with maladaptive daydreaming (fantasizing that replaces human interaction or interferes with functioning) in college and offender samples. This may reflect a cognitive extension of the undercontrolled personality in psychopathy.
