Abstract
Striking disparities exist between East and Southeast Asian American education attainment rates. We found that stronger beliefs in model minority stereotypes predict higher GPAs for East Asian Americans, but lower GPAs for Southeast Asian Americans. East and Southeast Asian Americans, however, identify equally with being Asian American.
