It’s Cold and Incompetent out There: College Student SCM Perceptions of Outgroups

Participants in two studies self-reported perceptions of outgroups along the dimensions of the Stereotype Content Model (Cuddy, Fiske, et al., 2007). Results suggested a shift in SCM perceptions of political parties over time. In addition, Caucasians rated immigrants and the mentally ill as less warm and competent than non-Caucasians.
