No a’s for Effort: The Relationship between Entitlement and College Students’ Grade Expectations

Abstract

The current studies investigated the relationships between academic entitlement, grade expectations and self-efficacy. Results indicated that students with entitled expectations were less likely to prioritize performance over effort, and those with externalized responsibility reported fewer self-efficacy and intrinsic motivated strategies for learning.
