Abstract

Left- versus right-handedness is associated with greater cognitive flexibility versus rigidity, respectively. Countries with intermediate rates of left-handedness, not too many and not too few, had higher rankings on indices of global socioeconomic development. This suggests that countries with many versus few left-handers may be too volatile versus rigid, respectively.
