Abstract

We examined the extent to which physiological coupling in mother-child dyads changed in relation to second-by-second changes in negative emotional intensity of a fear-inducing video clip. We found that mothers and children tend to align their physiological states when negative emotional intensity is low but compensate when intensity is high.
