Maternal Care Reduces Risk of Adult Sexual Perpetration in Children Who Witness Violence

Abstract

We examined the relationship between childhood exposure to violence and adult sexual perpetration and whether levels of maternal and paternal care during childhood mediates or moderates this relationship. Results show that the full predictive model with witnessing childhood violence, paternal care, and maternal care was significant.
