Childhood Maltreatment Is Highly Prevalent in a U.S. Adult Sample

Childhood maltreatment is an epidemic in the United States, although research suggests that law enforcement reports greatly underrepresent the actual cases of abuse and neglect that occur. Our findings support this contention by showing that childhood maltreatment is highly prevalent in a U.S. adult sample.
