Women and Men Show Similar Risk of Developing Severe Weather Phobia

Abstract

As extreme weather events increase, weather-related phobias are burgeoning. A need exists to address gaps in the literature to identify populations at highest risk. Our research found that although women reported higher anxiety related to severe weather events, there were no gender differences for most symptoms of severe weather phobia.
