Summer Learning Loss Effects Explain Large Part of Social Disparities in School Achievement

Abstract
We investigated the summer learning loss effect as a function of their socio-economic status and the length of summer vacations, which varied from four to six weeks. Results suggest that learning loss is particularly pronounced for children from lower social strata who at the same time have long summer vacations.
