Abstract

This study extends the research on student engagement to distinguish general and course specific engagement. EFA of data collected from a sample of AP Statistics students revealed that macro- and micro-engagement are indeed distinct constructs. Results from hierarchical regression showed that affective micro-engagement was most predictive of students’ statistics learning.
