Abstract
In this study, academic self-concept was found to completely mediate the influence of gender on leadership ability for heterosexual subjects, but not for homosexual subjects. Significantly lower scores in both leadership ability and academic self-concept were found for women versus men for heterosexual subjects, but not for homosexual subjects.
