Abstract

This study investigates the role of self-esteem as a mediator between shame due to heterosexism (SDHS) and loneliness among gay and lesbian men and women over 50 years of age. Self-esteem was found to fully mediate the relationship between SDHS and loneliness, β = .29, 95% BCa CI [.16, .42].
