Threat Objects May Influence Peoples’ Susceptibility to Change Blindness

We investigated change blindness and the influence of threat objects on undergraduates’ ability to identify suspects in photo lineups. Findings suggest increased susceptibility to change blindness when a threat object was present as well as increased recognition for individuals associated with threat objects.
