Abstract

The study examined the relationships between expressive flexibility, social functioning, and psychopathology symptoms. We found that the ability to enhance one’s emotions is associated with greater social self-efficacy and perceived social support, whereas the ability to suppress one’s emotions is associated with lower depressive symptoms and loneliness.
