Abstract

Engagement is positively associated with academic achievement and long-term involvement in education. This study confirmed the factor structure of an engagement measure and identified dimensions of engagement that predict performance in a college STEM gateway course. Findings suggested that interventions should foster engaged learning behavior and attitudes in STEM courses.
