Abstract

Health literacy (HL) is obtaining and understanding health-related information. Individuals from racial/ethnic minority groups often experience worse HL. In this study, perceived discrimination was associated with worse HL in college students across several domains (functional, communicative, critical). Future efforts are needed to minimize the impact of discrimination on HL.
