Abstract

Exposure to negative life events has been associated with subsequent difficulty recalling specific memories of past personal events, contributing to a range of emotional disorders. We investigated whether the support that people receive from others following a stressful experience can influence subsequent changes (i.e. reductions) in memory specificity.
