Abstract

Does self-control deplete with use? Using a new depletion paradigm, we found strong evidence (Bayes factor = 77) across four studies that participants became less cautious after completing a cognitively demanding task. These results suggest that our paradigm can help make progress on testing self-control depletion effects.
