Abstract
Research shows reappraisal is more effective when a situation cannot be controlled. Using a gambling task, we induced regret (associated with control) and disappointment (associated with lack of control) to assess the use of different reappraisal tactics. There were no differences in reappraisal tactics used during regret versus disappointment.
