“It Bit Me!” Social-Emotional Outcomes As Predicted By Temperamental Exuberance and Social Behavior during a Peer Risk-Taking Game

Abstract

This study examined early temperamental exuberance and children’s social behaviors with an unfamiliar peer at age 7 during a peer risk-taking game. Stable exuberance was related to positive social behaviors. Thus suggesting a mediational pathway towards adaptive outcomes in late childhood.
