Abstract

This longitudinal study suggests childhood curiosity originates in infancy. Infant temperamental “approach” (N=58) was significantly correlated with childhood curiosity, and Temperament Profile 3 infants showed greater childhood curiosity than Profile 1. Measures of infant gazing approached significant associations with childhood grit and curiosity, but were negated by low power (N=21).
