Abstract

The present study examined whether different forms of early childhood aversive life experiences (e.g., physical and emotional abuse, and sexual touching) increase the likelihood of different, more severe self-harming behaviors depending on abuse type. Results revealed that sexual touching was the most significant predictor of burning.
