Amotivation Predicts Student Academic Success and Adjustment to College

Abstract
The study examined motivation to attend college, academic success, and views of the importance of liberal arts and applied learning. Students’ (n=523) college adjustment and academic success were positively related to either greater interest in the liberal arts or applied learning. Amotivated students reported lower college adjustment and success.
