Abstract

This study underscores how individual differences in attachment anxiety (i.e., anxious working models within attachment relationships) intensifies the association of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) with adult somatic symptoms. The findings carry implications for targeting anxious working models of attachment as a means of buffering vulnerability to adult somatic symptoms.
