Supervisors' Gratitude Expression and Employees' Hubristic Pride Are Related to Employees' Organizational Citizenship Behavior

Abstract

Experiencing and expressing discrete positive emotions at work has prosocial consequences. I found that supervisors’ gratitude expression and employees’ hubristic pride were related to employees’ organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), but neither authentic nor hubristic pride mediated the gratitude-OCB relationship. Additionally, employees’ narcissism did not function as a moderator variable.
