Abstract

Previous literature suggests that late bilinguals have a disadvantage for the processing of emotional concepts in L2. Our study shows that the apparent disadvantage of processing emotions in L2 disappears with the use of non-verbal materials. Actually, late bilinguals activate sadness concept more strongly in L2 than in L1.
