Abstract

We investigated how the experience of power affects the processing of monetary rewards using electroencephalography. Results showed that high-power participants were more driven to approach monetary rewards but did not show greater sensitivity to monetary rewards in general. The findings could help explain why some powerholders engage in corrupt behavior.
