Abstract
This study found that self-critical perfectionism predicted increases in depressive symptoms from September to November in first-year undergraduate students. Furthermore, this relationship was mediated by defeat and entrapment, such that self-critical perfectionism predicted increases in defeat and entrapment, which in turn predicted increases in depressive symptoms over the two-month period.
