How Online News Consumers Estimate Public Opinion and Construct Their Own: Effect of Posted Comment to the News

Abstract

The press industry goes through a transformational period because news readers nowadays prefer online platforms to traditional newspaper or TV platforms. This study analyzes 907 online news users and examined the effect of comments posted by other users on news readers’ public opinion estimation and their attitude formation.
