Construal Level Orientation: Language Use in Sexual Goals

We examined how construal level is associated with descriptions of sexual goals as oriented towards the self or dyad. By operationalizing goal focus with language usage, we found that a low-level construal is associated with individualistic language, and a high-level construal is associated with dyadic language in sexual goal descriptions.
