Abstract

Trait self-control is found to associate with less aggression, but the underlying mechanisms are vastly unknown. Five correlational studies were conducted to demonstrate that reduced anger rumination mediated the relation between trait self-control and multiple forms of aggression. Results of an internal meta-analysis showed that the mediation effect was medium.
