Abstract

Twenty college students participated. Greater mindfulness predicted lower: sensation seeking, mean HR and greater HR deceleration following meditation. High sensation seeking predicted smaller HR deceleration and decreased mindfulness. Meditation + low anxiety produced smaller HR deceleration. Personality, anxiety and HR may predict who and how individuals respond to meditation.
