Experienced Discrimination, Self-Concealment and Acceptance: Who Self-Conceals and What Are Potential Buffers?

Abstract

In a sample of 103 college students, we examined the extent to which one self-conceals in the face of discrimination and if their level of acceptance buffers this relationship. Results indicate that participants with higher levels of experienced discrimination and lower levels of acceptance were most at risk for self-concealment.
