Abstract

Currently depressed and recovered depressed individuals show default mode network (DMN) hyperactivation. In our study, DMN hyperactivation was associated with preferentially processing negative information in individuals who do not have current or past depression but who are at-risk for depression. DMN hyperactivation may reflect an underlying cognitive vulnerability for depression.
