How Nurture Feature Influence Nature Feature for Language Development: Mother Tongue Effect on Executive Functions in Bilingual Children

Abstract

The study examined whether mother tongue exposure positively influences executive functions. Total of 60 children composed of 20 bilinguals exposed to mother tongue, 20 bilinguals not exposed to mother tongue and 20 monolinguals participated. The results showed that mother tongue exposure positively influence the vocabulary (L2) along with executive functions.
