Abstract

We assessed how different motivational exercise messages (appearance-focused, health-focused, and strength focused) impacted body satisfaction in undergraduate women. Results showed no significant differences in body image among the different conditions. More research is needed to identify exercise messages that are not only persuasive but also psychologically healthy.
