Abstract

In a sample of 173 college students, we examined the extent to which acceptance, reappraisal, and inhibition buffered individuals higher in early life stress against dysregulated cortisol reactivity. Higher scores in at least one of these buffers resulted in lowered cortisol production even in the face of early life stress.
